photo by Sara Richards Many people like more traditional house styles such as Craftsman, Victorian, or Mediterranean. Others like sleeker modern designs like you see in Dwell magazine. Older house styles have come from many places and many eras. I introduced Stewart Brand’s book How Buildings Learn last week. There is much in it, about which types of buildings learn best, and how to plan ahead to make new ones adaptable. A book that made a lasting impression on me was How Buildings Learn by Stewart Brand. He states “All buildings are predictions. All predictions are wrong.” |
