| This family wanted an old-fashioned farm house. I wrapped porches around three sides so they could escape the summer heat and enjoy views of their 40-acre property. Inside, the open central stair leads to a casual reading area with a vaulted ceiling on the way to the bedrooms.
I made the large kitchen with island just out of sight from the living room with its wood-burning stove. Green features that were used include cement/wood siding, wood truss floor and roof framing, all to conserve trees, and metal roofing to last for many years. |
